KEET-TV CONVERTS TO HIGH DEFINITION BROADCAST SIGNAL AND ADDS KEET-3 AND KEET-4 On February 24, KEET-TV, Public Television for the North Coast, began broadcasting in high definition. The digital channel KEET-1 is now KEET-HD. KEET is also now transmitting four digital streams. The streams will be designated KEET-HD, KEET-2 (KEETWorld), KEET-3 and KEET-4. Initially, KEET-3 and KEET-4 will be transmitting a stored image identifying the channel. In the near future, KEET-3 and KEET-4 will broadcast programming from PBS and other sources. The high definition transition will result in a higher resolution image for most viewers. There should not be an interruption in KEET’s broadcasts. However, for viewers to receive KEET’s entire program stream over-the-air, they will need to rescan the channels on their digital converter box.
