Access Humboldt Channel 8 Will No Longer Broadcast KEETWorld Programming
As of September 15, 2009, Access Humboldt will no longer broadcast KEET-TV’s second digital channel, KEETWorld on Suddenlink Cable Channel 8. In order to provide cable service for KEETWorld programming, KEET-TV’s management made a request to Suddenlink for a new cable channel. Beginning September 15, 2009, KEETWorld will be available on Suddenlink Channel 108. Channel 108 is on Suddenlink’s digital tier, therefore cable subscribers will need to have a digital cable box to receive KEETWorld. Cable subscribers who have a digital television and have SuddenLink Limited Basic service, which is SuddenLink cable connected directly to their television, will receive both KEETWorld and KEET13. Viewers will need to rescan for channels to locate KEET's digital signals on the cable. Those Suddenlink subscribers using an analog cable box, will not be able to receive channel 108. KEET-TV’s 24/7 news and public affairs programming continues to be available over-the-air with a digital receiver at Digital TV Channel 13-2.
